Mobley Manual Care was one of the first to bring Kenisio Taping to the Louisville community in 1999. Nearly a decade later, the popularity of this tape exploded after the 2008 Summer Olympics where many of the Olympians sported the tape. We first learned of its therapeutic value at a Manual Lymphatic Drainage re-certification course in 1999. Through continuing studies and applications we also learned that not only was it beneficial for swelling but also for cranky nerves and for enhancing sports performance.

 

The elastic tape we most often use is Kinesio tape. It is a soft, cotton elastic tape designed to mimic human skin. The tape being nonbinding, porous and comfortable can be worn for up to five days. Rather being restrictive, the tape's application is designed to enhance pain free range of motion. We've had clients call it magic tape and ask if there are analgesics in the tape, which there are not. From the sports enthusiast to the retiree most all love the comforting and supportive nature of this tape.
